Dr. Gurjar has played a vital role to help develop Emcure’s differentiated portfolio across key target therapeutic areas and establish multiple tech-driven innovative platforms. He has over 32 years of experience in pharmaceutical sciences and is a fellow at various national and international academies.
His interest is in synthesis of complex molecules and drugs containing chiral centres. This expertise culminated in development of many chiral drugs for cardio vascular diseases, anti-inflammatory, proton-pumping inhibitors. The non-biological complex iron drugs and anti-hyperphosphatemia coupled with complex oncology drug, HIV drugs etc. form the basic premise of his applied research activities.
Mukund Gurjar held membership of many journals including American Chemical Society, Taylor-Francis, Harwood Academic, and Indian Chemical Society. He is a member of many Indian Academic Societies.
Mukund Gurjar holds two Ph. D. degrees from Nagpur and London Universities in Chemistry and did his Post-Doctoral Research at the York University, Toronto, Canada. Dr Gurjar retired from the distinguished CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune as a Deputy Director and Head of Chemistry Division. He has to his credit over 250 publications and over 180 patents. A large number of research scholars have secured Ph. D degrees under Dr Gurjar supervision.
